It snowed this week. We had a great time playing in the snow.
In PE we have been learning lots of different skills. We can now dodge successfully to avoid being caught by our friends.
Team Year 2 were fantastic at dodging and used specific skills to navigate around the pitch. We are superstar players in PE. We win certificates for being team players, never giving up, supporting others and being a good role model to our peers.
We have been learning about how the shape of a material changes when it is recycled.
We sorted different picture cards and decided whether we could recycle or use each object.
We found out that when a material is recycled it will change shape and be made into something else.
Materials all have different properties. This means that some are able to change shape and stay changed. Other materials can change shape temporarily but will go back to their original shape and some materials cannot change shape at all.
We used the App ‘Pic Collage’ to explain what we found out.
We completed a ‘Cold Writing Task’.
We thought about what might happen next.

This week we used our planning board to carry out a fair test investigation to observe how different materials absorb water. We predicted what might happen.
We selected different materials to test. We coloured one side of each material with wax crayon and added drops of water to each side of the material. We observed what happened.
This week we carried out an investigation to see who could build the strongest bridge. The strongest bridges didn’t collapse when the moon buggy crossed to the other side.
What could you do to the paper to make it even stronger?
We have been looking at 2-digit numbers. Each number has a special value. 2-digit numbers are made up of tens and ones.
We played a true and false game and sorted statements into the correct pile. Can you decide if these are true or false?
This week we have been partitioning 2-digit numbers into tens and ones.
Some us had a try at partitioning teens numbers and writing an addition sentence .
